Why should the state be dictating payouts?
We feel this is an area where the legal processes should have jurisdiction. Allow the courts the freedom to make decisions as they see fit and abolish this artificial restriction.

MessageWe feel there has to be a cap.

If there is no cap, oppourtunistic people may take advantage of the state to get as much money as possible for a minor incident.

We must have the cap for the good of the doctor, the state and the patients who would find themselves overshadowed by these oppourtunistic people.

MessageWe feel that the state would be better of trying to minimise reasons for lawsuits, rather than the final compensation.
People seeking justice (and that lies in the hands of our justice system) don't need big brother advising them of financial limits on damages. We have faith that our justice system awards amounts that are commensurate with the case being brought.
