Bill: National Education Reform (NER)

Details

Submitted by[?]: Order of Valtiel

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2310

Description[?]:

Instead of creating a nation of lazy test takers the Lords of Power wish to make the following changes to the education system.

Instead of allowing education to be "Voluntary" (which means the kids won't do anything except watch TV) we will make it compulsory so that they will actually LEARN.

And of course instead of promoting a nation of good test takers we will instead focus our educational system on practical skills that can be used in the real world.

MessageWhilst we like article #2 we are unable to support this Bill. Forcing anybody to do anything against their will is the hallmark of a totalitarian dictator. Dranland said no to vile control freak politics when the PGC were rejected from our society and they will say it again if the LoP decide to follow suit.

MessageChildren will only learn anything if they are forced to do it, otherwise they will just sit in front of a television and blow off the work. Don't you know ANYTHING about child psychology?

MessageChildren learn, retain and apply information far more effectively when it is on their own volition, within their own control and when they can enjoy it. We oppose this barbaric bill.
