if people decide that certain chemicals are not right for the environment then they can choose not to buy them, which will result in farmers changing their use of some chemicals.

MessageThat's all very if people can afford to make the choice. But as always, the poor will be forced by economic circumstance to sacrifice their health and their ideals.

Messagewell, the whole point is that if you just eliminate them altogether, the price goes up across the board.

in the case of food, it won't affect anyone as drastically as one might think. food is already inexpensive and large superstores maintain that low prices.

Its also a matter of personal choice, some people refuse to eat food that has had any artificial chemicals added to it, other people simply don't care.

clearly chemical fertilizers that cause damage to people are illegal already, (unless they count as recreational drugs, can anyone say "tomacco"!)

We intend for this to be a law that lets the people know what is going into their bodies. people will have a choice, in fact they will have a better choice now becuase they are actually aware of what they are eating,

MessageWould this result in a "label", so to speak, that would provide information to the consumer in a uniform fashion? If that is how we are reading this, then it sounds like an acceptalbe idea.

MessageIt would certainly be an improvement over the status quo, so we'd support this for now.

MessageIn response to EM, yes it would result in a label, or at least a bit more information being printed on the "nutritional information" label that is on most food products.

Random fact: Particracy does not allow role-play that seems to belong to the world of fantasy, science fiction and futuristic speculation.

Random quote: "Colonialism or imperialism, as the slave system of the West is called, is not something that is just confined to England or France or the United States. The interests in this country are in cahoots with the interests in France and the interests in Britain. It's one huge complex or combine, and it creates what's known not as the American power structure or the French power structure, but an international power structure. This international power structure is used to suppress the masses of dark-skinned people all over the world and exploit them of their natural resources." Malcolm X
