No seriously a gun is something that a potential user should be properly trained to use. So licenses should depend on passing a certified firearms use, maintenance and safety course, or on the applicant having served in the military or in law enforcement. We do not see any need for a minimum age, as the course would include evaluation of responsibility.

MessageShall we proceed to allow only licensed citizens to own knives, dart sets, power tools, and anything that could be used as a weapon?

MessageThere are arguments both sides here. We see no harm in requiring people to obtain safety certificates (effectively) if they wish to own a gun. Guns do not have the multiple uses that knives, darts, power tools or other incidental weapons have. They are purely and solely weapons, nothing else. We would request that this is extrended from just guns to include all artifacts whose primary purpose is that of being used as a weapon. i.e. this should include bows and arrows, swords, crossbows, sri-ken, spears etc.

MessageWhile we support the licensing of weapon users, we really would like the terms of the bill to specify that this aplies to aall artifacts that are specificaly designed to be weapons, not just guns.

MessageAs the proposer seems unwilling to alter the bill, we will vote against, as it is discriminatory against firearms.

Random fact: Players have a responsibility to differentiate between OOC (out-of-character) and IC (in-character) behaviour, and to make clear when they are communicating in OOC or IC terms. Since Particracy is a role-playing game, IC excesses are generally fine, but OOC attacks are not. However, players must not presume this convention permits them to harass a player with IC remarks that have a clear OOC context.
