Bill: Independence of Schools Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: removed

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 2037

Description[?]:

this act seeks to ensure the independence of schools from both the state and religon. Allowing school led prayer merely forces relgion onto school children unneccesarily and has no place in our secular society. Similarly national anthems merely enforce false patriotism and should not be sang in schools, as they impose a nationalist bias on school children.

MessageWe believe that the schools should be independent religiously, the national anthem should ALWAYS be sung on special occasions. Do we want our people to loose trust in the government? We must instill nationalism in our people. Besides, they would only sing it a few days every year.

As it goes, we will vote againstt this bill due to article 1. Article 2, we have no problem with(separation of church-and-state.)

Of course, we assume that these articles only apply to public schools, correct?

MessageIf a child does not feel that they have some problems with the government, that is certainly within their discretion. forcing them to sing the anthem is no better than forcing them to blindly follow wherever this government leads. if they have a problem with us, that's all there is to it.

MessageWe do not agree with this bill. While it is not a good idea to sing the national anthem all the time, we believe that it should be allowed on speical occasions.

Messagewe didn't say it isn't allowed, we said it just isn't mandatory. you are not forced to buy cheesburgers, but you're still allowed to. not being forced to and being forced not to are two different things

MessageWe firmly believe the education system should, and must, be a secular institution uninfluenced by religion or religious groups and we therefore support this bill.

MessageWe do agree with the CPL that the education system should be secular. We do believe that Luthori children should take pride in their country. We are the only country to get 99% of our bills passed.

MessageI think that's because we're getting all the things that we agree on out of our system first. Once the rest of the undisputed ones pass, that percantage is going to go down.
