Bill: Senate Shrink
Details
Submitted by[?]: Green Freedom Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 2323
Description[?]:
Due to the recent collapse of another of Dorvik's political parties, we feel that a shrink in the size of the Senate is in order. While seven parties may need 199 seats to represent them fairly, four parties do not need so many. We again propose 125 seats, although we are open to other ideas. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The total number of seats in the legislative assembly. Should be between 75 and 750.
Old value:: 199
Current: 475
Proposed: 125

Message | The pupulation hasn't decreased. In case you didn't know, Democracy is rule by the people for the people. NOT rule by Parties for themselves. |

Message | We're unable to support this. The GC actually has a good argument here. We vote for keeping it static, or at least have it lowered much less drastically. |

Message | I hate to just follow suit, but if one of the other two parties had voted yes then that might have swayed me... I don't think that this is that big of a deal though, so I'm more on the neutral side. |
