Bill: Omnibus I of 2323
Details
Submitted by[?]: Malivia Democratic Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 2324
Description[?]:
Omnibus I Proposal I: I have no idea what a Jawatankuasa is supposed to mean, and I don't want to look up the spelling every time it comes up in discussion. Either Assembly, or something similiar. Proposal II: Retirement age at 51?? Considering that the life expectancy in 2323 is like..100..having people work for 30 years and spend the other 70 years being subsidized by the government ..seems..economically irresponsible to me. |
Proposals
Article 1

Message | We must ask the representatives from the MDP not to include proposals that are not related, as it makes voting on single bills difficult and often irrational. |

Message | We have a long tradition of having bills in Malivia that include unrelated proposals..as omnibus bills. I feel its better to have several bills..having a few proposals each that can be negotiated..that it is to have three times as many bills with only one proposal. |

Message | We are against both articles. Changing the name of our Jawatankuasa strips our nation of its unique culture and turns it to a clone of other nations. We often shorten it to Jawa for ease of speech and typing. As to retirement age: first, no one is forced to retire at 51 rather it becomes an option at this age. Second, a longer caeer works against those who work physical jobs where age works against them and increases the chances of injury. |

Message | Maybe the optional retirement age could be discussed but as the bill stands we are against it. We also agree with the PP on article one that will degrade our cultural heritage. |

Message | Striking article I, will put that up for discussion later. Putting up a vote on the retirement age. It seems absurd to have such a low retirement age..even if it is optional. People are living longer, the solution is not to lower the retirement age, but either raise it or keep it the same. The retirement age in Malivia when I was here before was around 60. |
