Message | How does an educated populace benefit all? Why should those who are happy with an average education subsidise, through tax, those who wish to study further? Is it right that the average Joe Likaton should pay a doctor twice, once through tax to educate him, and again through tax or medical plan for his services? |

Message | If one truly desires an education, one should be willing to pay for it. The current system allows those with the desire to educate themselves to pay for it after the financial benefits have been realized, without adding to the taxpayer's burden. The proposed system will flood out universities with those who have no true desire to learn, but only to be supported by the state for four more years. |

Message | Human capital theory shows that an educated populace is better for the entire society. Education helps people to be more productive, and the more productive the workers, the more productive and wealthy the society. As to the straw man that people would remain in school to continue state support, note that this pays for tuition; one way or another, the student still must obtain the money on which to live. |

Message | *SOME* Education helps people to be more productive. A degree in fine art is as likely to distract a waitress as improve her performance... |

Message | The more Likatonians, however, with degrees in fine arts, the more excellent artists and entertainers will exist in Likatonia, and thus the better art and entertainment will exist for the masses. Those working as waitresses will do no better or worse than otherwise; however, the more talented will find higher levels of employment. |

Message | We do not believe that education in art creates talent. |

Message | It clearly does not create talent, but just as clearly can help that talent to develop. Had Michael Jordan never picked up a basketball, no one would ever have known what he can do when he plays. |
