Whereas, current law allows people to keep any animal as a pet, regardless of its danger to the public or the well-being of the pet, We hereby propose that precautions must be taken for the public safety. |

Old value:: All wild animals may be kept as pets, without any restrictions or precautions whatsoever.
Current: The government maintains a list of dangerous wild animals which may not be kept as pets; other wild animals may be kept as pets.
Proposed: Wild animals may be kept as pets; the owners of dangerous wild animals must take the necessary measures to ensure they can't escape.

Message | We must oppose this well intentioned bill, as it would be too restrictive on the rights of those pet owners who are completly responsible in their stewardship of our wild cousins. |
