Bill: Charter School Act of 2079
Details
Submitted by[?]: Proletariat Revolution Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 2080
Description[?]:
Charter schools are free, privately operated, publically funded schools. While our current system has publically funded school system along side a private one, the system should acknowledge a charter one. While the federal government oughtn't fund a charter system, it should leave the option to the local governments. This way, if the local governments so wish, they may or may mot permit charter schools in their prefecture. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Charter school policy (free, privately run, publicly funded schools).
Old value:: Charter schools are not allowed.
Current: Charter schools must be non-profit and have a specific focus.
Proposed: Charter school funding, regulation, and development is left up to local governments.

Message | If these schools are funded for free, why not fund religious schools? We don't believe this is fair. There are many private views other than religion that may be disagreeable, and to single out religion is bigotry. |

Message | There is no mention of religious schools in here. This is just leaving this up to local governments, and they may decide not to have it. The federal government is just relocating the jurisdiction. |

Message | Will these charter schools be for profit, or rather just regular private schools funded by the public? If the later is true then would they not then be public schools? And then what is the need of this bill? |

Message | IPD - this bill leaves that decision to the local government, removing official jurisdiction from the federal government. |

Random fact: It is possible for a player to transfer ownership of a character or a royal house to another player. This should be done in a public way, such as on the Character Transfers thread, so that if a dispute arises in the future, Moderation can be pointed towards evidence of the transfer. |
