Bill: Cabinet Proposal of March 2331

Details

Submitted by[?]: Páirtí Sóisialach

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2331

Description[?]:

The Conservative and Unionist Party stands in firm opposition to the lame-duck fascio-communist government. We urge all parties to denounce the corrupt policies and standards of the defunct government and vote in favour of a government that will be the true voice of the people.

MessageWell, at least it's refreshing to not hear the alternative cabinet referred to as 'Anti Fascist' for a change.

MessageOOC: AUP, we have done a full 180 in our policy making and ideology and are now a Fundamentalist Christian Party.

Hence we cannot support this cabinet and ask for our exclusion in all other dirty liberal/commie cabinets...

MessageActually, the FFP wasn't needed to constitute a majority. I simply thought an old friend might like to join in some fascist bashing. Apparently, old friends can become fascists. :D So, FFP, I would hope that you would resign your potential cabinet post if it passes.

MessageA little lesson in bills.

A cabinet bill can only pass if all parties included vote yes.

FFP voted no, therefore the bill was destined to fail, regardless of your majority.

Random fact: Players have a responsibility to differentiate between OOC (out-of-character) and IC (in-character) behaviour, and to make clear when they are communicating in OOC or IC terms. Since Particracy is a role-playing game, IC excesses are generally fine, but OOC attacks are not. However, players must not presume this convention permits them to harass a player with IC remarks that have a clear OOC context.
