MessageIf the MDP, MWP and PP have such faith in the market, then surely they should be the ones, not the LevP, trumpetting that if recycling saved us any money the market would be doing it on its own.

MessageIt is not an issue of saving money, rather to force the use of recycled materials rather then the cheaper alternatives. It is far easier to toss waste away then to recycle it. However by making recycling mandatory, we avoid the need to mine or produce as much raw material. Since the environment is a national resource it must be handled nationally.

MessageWhile the environment is a national industry, the energy we use in the transportation and recycling of materials is far greater than used in production from scratch. We are far more concerned with the impact of energy creation than a few extra feet on a landfill.
