Bill: Independent Student Thought Bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: AM Populist Social Democrats

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2334

Description[?]:

Whereas, We feel as if we are not allowing our students to think for themselves in some areas, and

Whereas, these areas include the punishment of creativity as well as the forced singing of the national anthem,

We hereby propose that student creativity be promoted by schools over pure practical knowledge and that students not be required to sing the national anthem.

Note that this does not preclude playing the national anthem at special events, but only that no punishment will come to those who refuse to sing it, so long as they are not disruptive.

MessageWe would have been happy to use the "but are required to show respect" option on the national anthem, but that would have it sung every day rather than continuing to have it sung on special occasions only.
