MessageWe agree with some portions of this bill and disagree with others. We would appreciate it being split into two bills so we can vote for those we agree with. All will become law, as the current political situation dictates. However, we would like to be able to vote against that which we oppose but for those we support.

Firing striking workers: We support as an improvement. At least the business must then prove they have good cause for the firing.

Missionaries: Opposed as promotion of religion.

Radio/TV stations: Fully supported, and a measure we considered introducing in the past.

Public nudity: We can support if the bill description restricts local government such that they must at least allow for nudist colonies, still allowing them to ban it in most areas.

POW treatment: Completely condemned and opposed, as sending POW's back out to fight against us, of course, means we would lose any war, although the LITP's positions suggest they might find that acceptable.

Prisoner labor: We oppose the change, seeking to punish and feeling our education plan is enough to rehabilitate, and the labor should be there to punish.

Refugee policy: We will support. Since we are restricting refugees, integration aid for those who are truly victims seems reasonable.

Software patents: Strongly oppose and ask the LITP to reconsider. Software is protected by copyright. If protected by patent instead, one cannot find a different way to achieve a similar goal. (OOC: If software could be patented, the lawsuit by Apple against Microsoft for having a similar "look and feel" in Windows to their own would have been upheld. While Microsoft is not a great example of promotion of competition, in this particular case their position was the pro-competition one. This has allowed on the other hand the MacOS to develop a Windows emulator.)

It was the removal of software patents that spurred us to provide some copyright protection as a better form of protecting intellectual property.

Space exploration change: Support.

Travel to the nation: We see this as a responsible change to the law and would support it.

MessageOK. We will remove the provision for software patents, and amend the public nudity provisions, but as for the rest, we must continue to promote.

MessageThat is not a problem, but we ask that you move the portions we wish to vote against into a separate bill so we can register our opposition while voting for the many provisions we support.

MessageForced as we now are to vote for or against the entire collection of proposals, we will with reluctance vote for the package, as there is a lot of good within it, later seeking to repeal some of the worst provisions.
