Voting deadline: March 2084
Description[?]:
CONSIDERING that the Higher Education Tuition Policy is that The government fully subsidizes tuition and that there is a free public education system and a small number of private schools, which are heavily regulated to ensure they teach adequate skills and information. and REALISING that the government subsidises a national radio station and television station for educational and informational purposes. We see a duplication of investment of public funds. Any person that wishes education and information has this freely available in our educational establishments. As such the continued funding of educational and informative media using public funds is clearly and distinctly a misuse of these funds. As such we propose to phase out these services or to sell them to the private sector if there are interested parties. We propose that the government dedicates these funds to the quality and competence of our education institutions |

Message | OK: the usual "no" to this, as to all proposed reductions in public services. Anyway, the Vox Pop outlets do far more than simply education. They allow any citizen to be a media programmer. They are the most libertarian institutions in the country. |
Date | 00:05:06, July 17, 2005 CET | From | Tuesday Is Coming | To | Debating the Education Dedication Act. |
Message | A Libertarian institution would welcome a reduction in "public services." Remember, the libertarian philosophy is that of a minimum government involvement in everything but defending its citizens. The media bills description's, if you remember, stated that education was the official reason. |

Message | If they demand that some citizens pay taxes so that some others can palay at being radio and television producers then all the more reason to do away with them. If people want to produce programs then they can do so. there is nothing in this bill aboutlicensing of the airwaves. It just eliminates the government bias to this type of hobby. Does the government fund role playing conventions, or fox hunting meets? No. So why should it fund amateur broadcasting? The education and information side are adequately (over-) funded through the education system. This is just pandering to a favoured few. Hardly libertarian, and a long way from egalitarian. |

Message | ((I was merely surprise that no one had expressed an opinion.)) We are interested to know why the DSP opposes this. |

Message | We need Vox Pop Television and Radio, especially now, if we make education voluntary. |
Date | 00:21:54, July 22, 2005 CET | From | Adam Smith Party | To | Debating the Education Dedication Act. |
Message | What on earth is the connection between voulntary education, and Vox Pop? If someone wants to learn, thewy can. Our system providews that. If they don't want to, then it is their problem. Having a subsidised hobby TV and Radio station will not change their minds. The only people that are likely to listen or watch are those that are going to go to school anyway. |

Random fact: It is possible for a player to transfer ownership of a character or a royal house to another player. This should be done in a public way, such as on the Character Transfers thread, so that if a dispute arises in the future, Moderation can be pointed towards evidence of the transfer. |
