Bill: Hunting Bill of 2080

Details

Submitted by[?]: Liberal-Progressive Union

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 2082

Description[?]:

Since private ownership of guns are illegal, the current hunting laws which allow hunting are obsolete. To protect the current fishing laws in place, this bill will leave private hunting and fishing up to the local governments. This bill, while outlawing hunting will preserve the fishing laws and allow for fishing to continue. Fishing will still be restricted to designated areas. Fishing will also still have restrictions on the amount of time fishing is allowed.

MessageSince guns are illegal there can be no hunting. I think this is the best way to preserve the fishing laws. By banning hunting outright, we must also ban fishing. This bill allows for hunting in name only, as it would be illegal due to the anti-gun laws. This is best compromise to protect the fishing laws.

MessageWe see no requirement for this law. Fishing is already designated to certain areas and periods, why change this to local Governments who could, in theory, allow hunting and fishing at any time and any place without the consent of Government in order to compete with other local Governments.

MessageHunting is already banned due to the gun laws. There are no proposals that protect fishing while banning hunting. The local governments will be required to abide by the current law as stated in the description. Whats the purpose of the current hunting law when there are no guns to hunt with? This outlaws 'gunless' hunting while protecting fishing whose restrictions will remain the same.

MessageSo why is there the proposal? You want the current situation but with the hunting ban explicitly mentioned. The proposed change would allow local governments to legalise all year fishing which you don't want. Remove the proposal for a yes; otherwise a no

MessageIt is still legal to hunt with crossbows, correct? Anyways, if hunting is illegal by default, then what's the point of such legislation?

MessageActually that is allowed, along with any form of hunting that does not involve a gun.

MessageAnd so, we have farms that raise animals to give us protein, meat, etc. etc. I am thinking why go and shoot animals who have another purpose besides being eaten when we have places that raise animals for the purpose of eating?

And if you just do it for a sport that is just wrong. I am sorry.
