Whereas, Some provisions that have become law are just plain deplorable, and amount to State endorsement of religion, and Whereas, We know that for a long time not only the Likatonian people but the majority of politicians have opposed active promotion of religion, We hereby propose to move towards separation of church and state in at the two of the areas we find most egrigious and think other parties may as well: The outright encouragement of-- not even neutrality toward-- foreign missionaries, and prayer in public schools that is not left, let us note, to local governments, but to teachers and/or principals who might wish to impose, using government funds, their religious views on students. |
