Bill: Federal Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: Paraplu party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 2349
Description[?]:
"What's so good about federalism?" -Liam Federalism lets more people be satisfied with the laws. As we are living in a democrocy, what the people want is of great importance! But if the southern half wants one thing and the northern half wants another, then unitarianism leaves half the nation un happy, but with federalism, more people can get what they want. If there is a bill you think just really should apply to the whole nation, say so, I'll probly take it out. |

Message | No on 2, 4, 5 and 6, these numberd bills give local givernments waaay too much power. 2. everyone should get power, local governments shouldn't decide that. After all, we the national government owns the power grid. 4. Everyone should have the right to gamble if they want to 5. Hiring policies should NEVER be regulated by ANY government. Local or national. Let private Companies have their own policies 6. Again, no government should be able to regulate what people do with their own bodies. If a guy wants to smoke himself to suicide, oh well. His choice, his choice. Take those proposals out and you'll have my vote. |

Message | "But if the southern half wants one thing and the northern half wants another, then unitarianism leaves half the nation un happy, but with federalism, more people can get what they want." Its a bit simplistic to say that half the nation will want one thing whereas the other half will want something else isn't? Things are more complex than black and white unamity. For instance, some people in the north may want what the south has or vice versa. People still have a say in how they're managed: by voting for the party they think has the best ideology. As far as we're concerned, democracy isn't about giving the majority what they want. Its about finding a compromise between the whole nation's various points of view. Plus, as for the specifics of the bill, *Article 1 is a horrible violation of human rights. Who is the government to say where I can and can't go? *Article 2 makes the nation potentially less safe. *We're in agreement with the SF on article 3. *And if you're worried about smoking harming others, why change article 4 so things can be less restrictive? |

Message | ahh, you kept the hiring policies proposal. Just forget it, the SF will never vote to hiring policies for private companies. |

Random fact: When it comes to creating a Cultural Protocol in a Culturally Open nation, players are not necessarily required to provide a plausible backstory for how the nation's cultural background developed. However, the provision of a plausible backstory may be a factor in whether Moderation approves the Cultural Protocol if players in surrounding nations question its appropriateness for their region of the game map. |
