Bill: Romano Enterprises Guarentee Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: People's Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2086

Description[?]:

Romano Enterprises, the world leader in aerospace technology has just contacted me with reference to a recent embargo imposed on the company by the Republic of Kirlawa.

He has requested an assurance from the Likatonian Govt that it will allow the company to source all affected supplies from this country.

In view of the benign effect of such trade, as well as our firm support of his company we request the parties of this nation to ratify this bill that will allow the company to continue its operations.

MessageI have a neutral position on this issue. To clarify, I will support this particular bill as it is not stating an approval of Romano, merely allowing them continued trade. I could not oppose without a clear cut reason for my distrust. However, I will not support any bill which is an endorsement of their activities or granting them special rights of privelidges.

MessageI don't think this is a PR stunt, if thats what you're thinking. They are facing persecution by an extremely hostile foreign govt, which does not allow companies the right to protect their innovations and technologies. The same Govt recently tried to legalize internationalize theft by framing a copyright sharing law, that would have legalised the theft of Likatonian property by Malivian citizens.

This is a dangerous country, which we should not and cannot support. Luca Romano, the company's founder, is leader of the opposition in Malivia and opposed to the dangerous actions of the Malivian Govt. He remains our only hope to avoid future skirmishes with the Malivian Republic.

He therfore does need our support, and your vote could go a long way towards making that happen.
