Message | We are not absolutely in agreement on article 2, while on the first one we we believe that the better solution is that multiple private companies each own and mantain sections of the national power grid. |

Message | For the second time, it is not more efficient to devolve powers of the power grid. It has been shown to you that each province would need to maintain the capacity above each's specific needs, which is inefficient when compared to the current situation where generation and load is shared. If you could just look past your blind ideological stance, you would see that. Furthermore, a national grid means a national electricity retail market. Provinces on their own are not large enough to maintain significant retail competition - the whole nation is. |

Message | "that multiple private companies each own and mantain sections of the national power grid." How is that socialism and how is that better? Or do you enjoy being forced to buy your electricity from the company that happens to own your street's power grid? |

Message | Industry shouldn't be subsidised. Its unnecessary interference in the market. Devolution allows it to be a possibility. Good enough? |

Message | It didn't say anything about subsiding it! |
Date | 02:00:38, January 30, 2007 CET | From | Txurruka/Aperribai/Mayoz's OPX | To | Debating the Federalist power bill |
Message | Its implicit in the law. Giving local governments the ability to decide policy on nuclear power effectively gives them the power to subsidise it. |

Message | If they do so, it will most likely be because it is best for the people. For example, if the town is quite reliant on nuclear power, but something happens to the plant, and they start to go out of business. Bad for the economy. |

Message | Its bad for the economy to encourage unproductive corporations. Why is the plant going out of business? Probably because the company cannot compete (for whatever reason - inefficiency, poor management, bad luck, etc) and its not right to expend tax money to keep a company that doesn't function properly in business. |
