Bill: Sexual Education in Schools
Details
Submitted by[?]: Partisans And Artisans League
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2082
Description[?]:
We believe that schools should have the right to choose whether or not to educate their pupils in matters of sexual education so that it is in keeping with the views of the area in whch the school is situated. If a school is lobbied by parents who wish to educate their children themselves, we believe that the schools should have the right to allow this to happen. But the saving grace for all you liberals out there is that most teachers are pinko-commies so it's very unlikely that most schools will use this power! Yay! |

Message | We believe that sexual education is important , and urge all parties to vote against this bill as it will promote ignorance and inappropriate sexual behaviour leading to unwanted pregnancies and the spread of STDs. |
Date | 11:20:40, July 19, 2005 CET | From | Free Beluzians | To | Debating the Sexual Education in Schools |
Message | The Representative for the FBP would like to point out to the Delegate from the SLP that this is not a ban on sexual education, but rather giving each school or school district the option of teaching sexual education. If the parents of children in a school district would rather that schools didn't teach sexual education, then the schools will not. |

Message | This just means that children which are especially vulnerable will not get sex ed.- especially as it is one of those things all too easily cut out of an already full programme. Why do the Free Beluzians support scrapping effective programmes? Why let ignorance rule the day? Beluzian children deserve to know what they are up for. |

Message | If the school decides that it has a lot of 'vulnerable' children it can impliment sex ed. This bill does not ban it. It just leaves the decission up to teachers (and indirectly, parents). |
Date | 00:26:13, July 20, 2005 CET | From | Social-Liberal Party | To | Debating the Sexual Education in Schools |
Message | And you know full-well that this means that certain children - especially vulnerable ones - will not recieve education as a result. |
Date | 06:47:06, July 20, 2005 CET | From | Free Beluzians | To | Debating the Sexual Education in Schools |
Message | When it comes to the matter, the FBP has seen many students pulled out of schools over this single issue. This only gives the option to local districts to have sexual education classes, and doesn't force schools to hold them. In the end, it is simply giving more rights to our people. |
