Bill: The Future
Details
Submitted by[?]: Likaton Coalition of the Willing
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 2352
Description[?]:
The LITP believe that, contrary to the historical lesson the 'the children are the future', that we need to be considering our elders. With the advancing age of our population, we need to use this resource carefully. We propose that retirement age be lowered to 60 years of age, but that over 60's be required to perform an average 12 hours per week, for 30 weeks of the year, of 'civil service', be it consultancy, jury duty, elected duty, or simply basic community work, such as in a creche, or charity store. The caveat would obviously be that any period of ill health (however minor), as certified by a doctor, would grant exemption from this requirement during any week where the illness occurred. |
