As an embryo is not a person, it cannot be a baby or an infant. I think what you meant to say is that it *looks* like a baby.

MessageDo you realize that I could (and did [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infant]* go to wikipedia and say An infant or baby is an extraterrestrial life form."?

If it looks like a duck, it's probably a duck.

MessageWhat if i claim you look like a duck? does this give me a stable defence if i shot you during open season (I cant remember if hunting is still banned or not so this statement may or may not be irrelevent.)

And if a eukaryote looks like colonial fungi, it must be fungi?

MessageIf you Know the difference between a eukaryote and a fungi then you would not say they look alike, and most people know the difference in a duck (The higher it flies the more.) As the do the difference between a sheep and an infant.

And I f we are going with wikipedia, then I'll just say it says "There is no exact definition for infancy."

MessageWell then the article is contradictory since it provides an excellent definition in its topic sentence: "An infant or baby is an extremely young person."

No one claimed Wikipedia to be perfect but its a damn sight more reliable than nothing. Especially as its legal to say whatever the hell you want.

M-W.com:1 : a child in the first period of life
Since a fetus contains the DNA of a human, and is alive, it is a child in the 1st period of life.

MessageWe have a good law at the moment. Its better for an abortion to be done, than for a child to be raised in a family that isnt able to economicallly* or emotionally support it.

*especially seeing that the minimum wages bill looks like its going to be defeated.

Well, no. A dictionary will tell you that a human is a bipedal mammal primates, which while accurate, is imprecise as such a definition can include just about any member of the primate family (not to mention that being a mammal is implied by being a primate).

Whereas Wikipedia will tell you that "humans, or human beings, are bipedal primates belonging to the mammalian species Homo sapiens" which is not only accurate but also precise, since it rules out any other species. While you may argue that fetuses are bipedal primates belonging to Homo sapiens, they aren't really since they haven't been born into the species.

"Since a fetus contains the DNA of a human"
A tissue can contain the DNA of a human

"and is alive"
Dubious. Is a sperm alive? Are ova alive? A fetus is nothing more than extension of those gametes.
