No one claimed Wikipedia to be perfect but its a damn sight more reliable than nothing. Especially as its legal to say whatever the hell you want. |

A dictionary will tell you that a human is a bipedal mammal primates, which while accurate, is imprecise as such a definition can include just about any member of the primate family (not to mention that being a mammal is implied by being a primate). Whereas Wikipedia will tell you that "humans, or human beings, are bipedal primates belonging to the mammalian species Homo sapiens" which is not only accurate but also precise, since it rules out any other species. While you may argue that fetuses are bipedal primates belonging to Homo sapiens, they aren't really since they haven't been born into the species. "Since a fetus contains the DNA of a human" A tissue can contain the DNA of a human "and is alive" Dubious. Is a sperm alive? Are ova alive? A fetus is nothing more than extension of those gametes. |
