MessageThe benefit everyone who doesn't wnt to pay 32% tax - that's EVERYONE! Why do you think the poor remain poor? It's because YOUR TAX SYSTEM destroys the desire to earn more than £5,000!

MessageThe tax system the SNU established ensured that nobody who earned under £5000 was taxed at all, and those who earned over £5000 were taxed at a reasonable rate. The tax system the Unionists are proposing will force everybody to be taxed at 16%, no matter how little or much they earn.

To put it in simple terms, a Luthorian earning £5000 a year will pay no tax under the present system, because his income is small. However, under the proposed system, that same Luthorian would have to pay £800 in tax and be pushed further into poverty.

MessageUnder the current system that Luthorian earning £5,000 has an incentive to earn more, meaning he will pay more tax. Under your system he would hit a threshold at £5,001 and suddenly become £800 worse off!

MessageWith respect, the Unionists have misunderstood how the tax system works. Under our system, people were taxed on income they earned which *exceeded* £5000. In other words, if the tax was 33% for all income earned over £5000, someone who earned £5001 would pay 33 pence in tax.

MessageMany would still see little point in passing that threshold, damaging ambition on a national scale.
