Bill: Bill for Active Improvement of Likatonia

Details

Submitted by[?]: AM Populist Social Democrats

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 2353

Description[?]:

Wishing to take steps to actively improve this nation, the PLPL proposes the following reforms:

Cloning technology should remain legal, but it should also be regulated so that some nutty-but-wealthy person doesn't run off 500 copies of himself.

There need to be fishing quotas to protect the LONG-term interests of the fishing industry. If we eat all the fish now, no fish will be able to give birth to the fish we eat in the future.

We continue to find the active encouragement-- not even neutrality to-- foreign missionaries as bizarre. We really want to encourage other countries who see Likatonia as inferior to send missionaries to change us?

Finally, immigrants should have to take a test to become nationals. We would prefer to place that test at the citizenship level, but the wording there suggests no exemption from the test for people born to Likatonian parents.

MessageWhilst we don't strongly oppose any of these measures, none of them are in line with our policies or the views of the majority of our members. We must, therefore, regretfully, vote against.

Random fact: Particracy does not allow official national flags of real-life nations or flags which are very prominent and recognisable (eg. the flags of the European Union, the United Nations, Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union or the Confederate States of America).
