2924 STATE OF THE NATION ADDRESS
By President Richmond Gardonn
Democratic Republic of Aloria
Ladies and gentlemen, fellow Alorians and members of the international community, good day. I am here today to provide an update of the current state of the Democratic Republic of Aloria.
In the past year, Parliament was able to pass several legislation which are aimed at improving the conditions of Alorians in the nation. Religion taxes have finally been abolished, providing religious freedom to every citizen and making sure that the separation between religion and state is maintained. Government subsidies and investments in industries have now been limited to companies which provide vital resources to the country, thus making sure that we have enough resources to satisfy our needs while making sure that expenses in the national budget are lessened. The spirit of goodwill is now expected to be promoted even further with the approval of the law that shall give disaster aid relief to countries in need instead of the "tied-in" aid that had been in effect in the past.
There is one law that was passed which I am not in agreement with, and that is the law that gives the army the power to decide on the use of landmines. Though I do not agree with this legislation, I hope that this was a good decision in the part of the Parliament.
Right now, we are currently aiming for the ratification of two treaties for Aloria, which are the Treaty of the International Committee of the Red Cross and the International Treaty on the Separation of Religion and State. I also aim for more treaties to be ratified in the near future, as we slowly open our doors once again to peaceful foreign relations.
As expected, our surplus has now increased to 60,100,535,385 ALO. We have enough money for contigency funds and other expenses that may be deemed as necessary in the near future.
With this, I thank the members of Parliament for their support, and I hope that we can continue to work well with each other in the upcoming years. I believe we are on the right track, and with your help we can continue to be in the right track. Signed,
the Government of the Democratic Republic of Aloria
