December 3590 News Report
A leak at a factory in Khodor has caused thousands of litres of poisonous chemicals to be released into an important river. Environmentalists predict that the aquatic life in the river will be wiped out and it will take years to recover. The company responsible, XRB Inc., is a major member in the food sector of Khodor and there are worries that a similar incident could happen in their other plants that exist throughout Rutania. The company has refused to comment on the issue.

April 3590 Announcement from the Government of the People's Republic of Hutori
This press message was released by the Government of the People's Republic of Hutori. Despite earlier reports to the contrary, the Presidium of the People has authorized early elections in the People's Republic of Hutori scheduled for May 3590. A spokesman for Seryozha V. Nikanor, Premier of the Presidium of the People, said that this was done to alleviate pressure on the Government from the recognized Opposition and to alleviate building political pressure in Adelia Province.
Reports that early elections were called to avoid an electoral fight between the ruling National People's Congress and the resurgent monarchist United Party are, of course, unsubstantiated.
Signed,
Viktor Ananko
