Democratic Republic of Aloria
Office of the President
2764 ECONOMIC REPORT
A month after the release of the 2763 Pre-Election Economic Report, the Alorian Parliament have voted to accept the Sales Tax on Luxury Goods Act 2762 (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=252712), which reduced luxury sales tax rates from 4 percent to 3 percent. As a result, the surplus has reduced from 20,031,278,386 ALO (August 2763) to 16,296,582,842 ALO. Nevertheless, the presence of a surplus in the national economy should serve to relieve the people of any worries about the nation's economic health.
The August 2763 elections have also led to the election of James Washington (Centre Democrats) as the new President of Aloria. However, the executive branch still has an incomplete Cabinet, which came as a result of the Neptune bribery scandal.
Despite that, we are hopeful that the new government under the leadership of President Washington will slowly bring back the confidence of foreign investors and tourists in transacting business and empowering the tourism industry in Aloria. We also hope that the new government will help regain the confidence of the Alorian citizens in their government.
Signed,
Robert Gurdon
