The United Kingdom of Beitenyu and Jutridan intends to reinstigate a programme of thermonuclear weapon testing within the next five years. Scientists of the Government's Space Weaponry Division (SWD) hve claimed the development of a Space-Land Air Missile (SLAM) system which is capable of launching nuclear missiles from "piggybacked" military satellites. Some have claimed that the new devices under development could have a yield o up to 2 megatons.
President George Pearce commented that the project was, despite appearing outwardly agressive, the "biggest assurance of global peace for decades."
"The Government of this nation has no interest in war, and the establishment of the most powerful nuclear deterrent on Planet Terra will ensure the continued safety of our citizens, shielding this state from any future attack."
The plans are said to be costing the Government enormous sums of money.Signed,
the Government of the United Kingdom of Beiteynu and Jutridan
