Explosion rocks Kaliburg, SP headquarters demolished
In a dramatic explosion in downtown Kaliburg today, the Socialist Party Headquarters was demolished. A fireball was seen rising into the sky to an altitude of several thousand feet, as experts described a 2000 pound bomb being detonated. SP headquarters is one of the oldest buildings in Kaliburg, and has, for more than seven centuries, served the Party as nerve center for the Socialist movement of the country.
There is no claim of responsibility for the destruction, though government spokespeople believe that the destruction was caused by a large magazine kept in the cellar for the militia. Few made it out of the building alive, and among the dead were the Socialist Party's entire national and regional leadership including all SP Cabinet officials, who were at the Party HQ for the national Conference of the SP which is held this time every year.
This damage will fatally cripple the SP for the foreseeable future, and it is unknown if the SP will ever recover. Interim leaders have suspended all campaigns for office, and what looks like an internal power struggle is beginning as local leaders jockey for power and influence.Signed,
