This press message was released by the Government of the Sovereign Republic of Pontesia.
Continued pressure form global powers to show a sign of unity among certain national powers has caused the Pontesian President and Congress to push ahead a new vote that would change its current picks for the Security Council seats. The Government has for the most part taken a neutral stance on international affairs as it restructures its government and its nation after its victory against the former Monarchy.
In an address to the Pontesian Congress President Alinar announced that he would be formally seeking a more proactive agreement with the Foreign Minister to seek out and establish relations with foreign powers. One nation who will currently remained unnamed at this time has already asked to discuss trade agreements to further friendship and cooperation between their nations.
Additionally the President has stated that the Civil War currently going on has stained many nations integrity and has shown that there is a large gap between nations currently apart of the World Council and those in the Security Council.
"It goes without saying that the bloody civil war currently raging in Badaran has caused a great divide between nations. On one side you have those nations that respect the sovereignty of the nation of Badaran and seek to send assistance through medical and food to help the displaced and hurting civilians of the nations. On the other side you have nations that seek to take this as a chance to get their military might into the nation and remove the legal government of the nation in hopes of gaining control of the nation...as a Sovereign Republic we believe it is the right of Badaran to remain in the hands of its legal government."
The President went on to say that his hope was that through the Security Council that a plan could be formed to ensure the sovereignty of the Badaran.Signed,
the Government of the Sovereign Republic of Pontesia
