The Grand Liberal Party was formed in late June, of the year 2650 by Mr. David Collins. His successor was Mr. Tom Fahey, who still works as a spokesperson for the Party. Recently, the Grand Liberal Party have been backing up the Three Principles of the Peoples Party, whom are now in power. The Party is widely based on Social Liberalism. The Grand Liberal Party have strong beliefs in freedom and individual liberty for all persons. We believe in: * The right to food, shelter, education and economic opportunities. * The right to universal health care. * The right to be treated equally in all endeavors. * The right to criticize government without action being taken. * The right to think and act individually, and not based on other peoples beliefs. * Free choice within an open competitive process. * The dual responsibility of the state to protect the individual citizen and guarantee their liberty. * The importance of human rights. * The protection and privileges of personal liberty extended to all citizens equally by law. * The equal treatment of all citizens irrespective of race, gender and class. * The presumption of innocence, no double jeopardy, and Habeas Corpus. * The regeneration of damaged areas. * The free exchange of ideas, news, goods and services between people, as well as freedom of travel within and between all countries. The Grand Liberal Party believes that in order for all people to have substantive liberty, the provision of basic necessities to all citizens ought to be ensured by the political community through means such as heavy taxation, towards ends such as public education, universal health care, infrastructure, and social security. |
