Description[?]:

Franklin Ellis Shay came to prominence as the leader of the Northbend Workingmen's Party, a local union of industrial workers (mainly miners and transport workers).

The Commonwealth Workers Army is an association of labor unions, religious groups sympathetic to the working classes, and strong military and justice industry advocates.

The central mission of the Commonwealth Workers Army is:

1) to create a FAIR society. This means better representation for the working classes, greater equality, and a focus on the citizen nature of the people.

2) to create a JUST society. This means absolute rule of law, strong enforcement, and equal treatment under the law.

3) to create a DEVOUT society. This means emphasis on the historical and societal importance of religion, and the cultural significance of faith in society.

4) to create a SOVEREIGN society. This means following-through on the Founding intentions of the nation, and creating a nation strong in it's own right, and not bound by restrictive external ties.

The Founders of the Commonwealth Workers Army are:

Franklin Ellis Shay - the charismatic leader of the unionists and the party. The party's candidate for the office of President.

Deacon Lester - an evangelical leader, considered to be the religious focus of the movement. The party's candidate for Head of Government.

Cameron Southers - a former diplomat, now forging ties with unions in other states. The party's candidate for the Foreign Affairs Office.

Baltasar Villalobos - a former lawman who has joined the Workers Army due to frustration with lawlessness. The party's candidate for the Internal Affairs Office.

Rhodes Carlisle - formerly of a prominent agricultural family, now an economic reformer. The party's candidate for the Finance Office.

Korbin Doyle - a major military supplier, Korbin Doyle has joined the Commonwealth Workers Army to safeguard military jobs and military contracts. The party's candidate for the Defence Office.

Usdi Tsani Freemann - a Native lawman from the contested Eastern territories, Usdi Tsani has joined the party to advocate for Native rights. The party's candidate for the Justice Office.

Walker Noble - an entrepreneur in the construction industry, Noble has joined the party to advocate for the rights of construction and transport workers, and infrastructure contracts. The party's candidate for the Infrastructure and Transport Office.

Allan Dermid - a religious leader from the contested Eastern territories where the Dermid families maintain a number of religious schools, church hospitals and missions. A strong believer in church-led social support. The party's candidate for the Health and Social Services Office.

Weldon Fraser - Founder of the Weldon Fraser College, and the Fraser Memorial Library. Fraser is a staunch advocate for faith-based education. The party's candidate for the Education and Culture Office.

Kent Harley - a pharmacist and founder of the Medical Gentleman's Committee for Business (a regional labor union for medical workers). The party's candidate for the Science and Technology Office.

Bryant Sandford - owner of extensive plantation estates, Bryant Sandford has joined the party as an agricultural labor reformist. The party's candidate for the Food and Agriculture Office.

Harlan Rolph - a former member of the 'St. Jackson Saboteurs' - a Norwalk anti-industrialist group. Harlan Rolph has abandoned direct action for political pressure. The party's candidate for the Environment and Tourism Office.

Lindsey Lund - a member of the Lund credit-union group, and a firm believer in community level economics. The party's candidate for the Trade and Industry Office.

In May 4154, The Commonwealth Workers Army became the dominant party in Likatonia, gaining clear popular advantage in Norwalk and Madison state elections, and being the second most popular party in East and West Bolton, and in Pirland.

Franklin Ellis Shay became the Likatonian President in the Second Round of voting, defeating John Freeman of the Conservative Party of Likatonia by a 54-46 margin.

In the Unity Cabinet election of February 4155, the Commonwealth Workers Army gained three Cabinet seats, including the coveted Head of Government office.

Deacon Lester became Head of Government, Allan Dermid took control of the Office of Health and Social Services - an important strategic victory for the Workers party - and Harlan Rolph became the Minister for Environment and Tourism.

After the emergency elections of March 4157, the party realised that Likatonian citizens were rejecting the military agenda that Korbin Doyle brought to the party. Faced with the choice of trying to better serve the people, or better serve the military industrial complex - the CWA chose a pacifist agenda, and parted ways with Korbin Doyle.

Korbin Doyle's position in the Shadow Defence office was taken by Turk Jung, leader of the Militant Pacifist Movement.

In good news - March 4157 saw President Franklin Ellis Shay win his third consecutive Presidential election by a 55-45 majority of the People's Democratic Party candidate Jose San Andres.
