Description[?]:
The CNP is a party of Conservatives, Economic & Classical Liberals, Christian Democrats, and Capitalists that all believe in the economic principles of Capitalism, Justice, and National prosperity. The party stands strong in the opposition of Socialism and Fascism in all forms from gaining root in Cildania, for a safer and brighter future free from oppression. Party History: The Cildanian Nationalist Party emerged in the time of the 22nd and 23rd Centuries as a loose political alliance made up of disgruntled members of the current ruling parties. They originally did not have much in common, other than their rejection of the current political parties, and as time progressed, it became organized into a political force for the preservation of the status quo. The CNP rose to success under the leadership of Richard Hunter, a man born in the capital city who came from a lower middle class family of obscurity, and with his charisma and pragmatism, rose the the office of the presidency. Hunter had lead the nation in a time plagued by socialist and communist agitation, and had sucessfully lead the government to quell a Communist Uprising. While this had lead to much praise from the public, it drew ire from the socialist revolutionaries. After Richard Hunter's term in office, he had became the senior chairman of the party, and was in the process of selecting new leaders for the next generation of the party. Tragedy struck however, when on one Sunday morning, Richard Hunter was stabbed while leaving from Mass with his family by communist youths. He died shortly after, and threw the Nationalist Party's leadership into chaos. Hunter's good friend and deputy, former Gen. August Reinhardt tried to unite the quarreling factions, but to no avail. Eventually, an armed wing of the party, known as the White Suns had tracked down the assasins and murdered them, and the CNP had lost all direction. Over time, its national prominance faded away, and slowly disintegrated into a regional, and then local party. By the dawn of the 24th Century, the memory of the CNP had faded into history, as a page in Cildania's past. |
