Description[?]:
We are libertarians, although perhaps the more appropriate term to describe our views is classical liberalism. We look at each issue separately, rather than just blindly applying strict libertarianism to everything. We are not opposed to government action whatsoever; just to that government action which inhibits the competition of the free-market or imposes unnecessary restrictions on other individual liberty. We will almost always support government action that helps to improve free competition and make it more beneficial. Libertarianism is not anti-government. It may very well be anti-large percentages of the establishment governments of society, but to say that libertarianism is anti-government is to say that a person who only likes handguns is anti-gun. Libertarianism is in itself, a political standpoint, and politics exist only in the presence of government (the kind of politics we're talking about). If libertarianism was anti-government then it woudn't be libertarianism, it would be right out anarchism with no desire to adopt changes through political means, but through shear force. We simply believe that the scenario where the individual is allowed to make the most amount of choices for himself and on his own, that is, while still maintaining a certain limit so as to keep society in order, is the most benefical and prosperous state of existence for a human society in both the short term and the long term. |
