Description[?]:
History The Christian Nationalist Party was founded in August of 2938 as a splinter group of the Christian Zionist Party. Members of, the long chastised, militant faction of the CZP and the more extreme members of the conservative faction formed the core of the new party. The members formed their new party under the leadership of a local former CZP party boss in Tadraki; Richard Lee. Lee charged the CZP leadership with being “too moderate and too Jewish.” The CNP attempted to court some the CZP’s MP members but despite their efforts none joined them, viewing them as too radical. In January, 2943 the CNP won a massive landslide victory in the election, achieving a super majority. The CNP immediately set into effect its righteous agenda. A year later in the January, 2944 the CNP won every seat in the parliament. Since winning the CNP has recognized the Emperor King George III leader of the Holy Luthori Empire as the King of Commonwealth of Yishelem and Beiteynu. For this action Richard Lee was knighted by the King. The CNP has achieved its goal of turning Yishelem and Beiteynu into a theocratic monarchy by 2945. In celebration of the King's coronation the CNP changed its name to the Christian Imperial Party. Party Faction’s Shortly after the founding of the party the membership coalesced around 3 groups after their first election in 2,938; the extremists, the Christian conservatives and the classical liberals. The Extremist faction consists of the fanatically religious (though a very strong vein of religiosity runs through the entire party) and those highly nationalistic and militaristic. The extremist would like nothing better than to institute a Christian version of sharia law and see their nation’s military sweep across the continent. This faction holds a disproportionate amount of influence among the party leadership including the party leader, Sir Richard Lee. Under the guidance of Lee the faction strong nationalist views have morphed into complete loyalty to the Luthori and now Yishelem and Beiteynu King. The Christian Conservative faction, or as they call themselves “the very religious right”, though less fanatical than the extremist faction are still very religious. They form the bulk of the party. They want traditional values to be reinstated in the nation and a Christian theocracy to be formed in the country (though Jewish freedom of worship will be guaranteed). Besides traditionalist this faction also includes a small but influential number of monarchists. However changing views of the extremist faction is attracting an increasing number of the monarchists. The Classical Liberal though a slightly larger faction than the extremists dominate the party economic philosophy. They advocate a complete free market capitalist system in which the government intervenes little if at all. This group was drawn to the CNP by their religious values and saw the chance to shape them into the only true pro-capitalist party in the country. Though they distain welfare this faction, in the Christian spirit, encourages private charities to care for the poor. Each faction is largely concerned with its own area of interest they will generally toe the partly line when it comes to things that are important to the other factions. Ideology The CIP’s aim is create a truly Christian national identity in the nation and the eventual conversion of all inhabitants to the Christian faith. Though the party split from the Christian Zionist Party it share many of its views on Zionism and the Christian-Jewish relationship. Though they would like the conversion of the Jews they see them as an important part to prophecy and as the chosen people of God. The CIP hopes to create a Christian a theocratic monarchy to spread righteous throughout the land. They believe strongly in traditional religious values, a strong national defense, capitalism and a small government. Party Leadership Sir Richard Lee - 2938 to present |

Random fact: Did you know you can change the official name of your nation? All you need to do is draw up a new name that is in accordance with the Nation Renaming Guide, pass a bill proposing the name change with a two-thirds majority and then post a request to Moderation on the "Renaming Requests" thread. You can change city and region names in this way too. |
