On December 3023 a public protest against the treatment of Workers in Coburan society erupted into a riot when police fired on demonstrators, Killing 10 and wounding 40 protesters. Amongst them was Ernesto Delvechhio - a well known trade-unionist and public figure. From this a new party emerged known as the MLFC (marxist liberation front of cobura). It vowed to overthrow the ruling elite and change society going on the idea's of Karl Marx.When the MLFC first entered politics it was attacked by Fascist street organisations, so to protect its Members from Right-wing terror it formed its paramilitary arm "The Revolutionary Movement of December 17" also known simply as D17. In October 3027 it was revealed that there was 661,098 well-armed active members of the D-17 militia wing of the MLFC. Recently Historians have claimed that the party has its actual roots in the "party of marxist unification" (http://classic.particracy.net/viewparty.php?partyid=11568) which first contested elections in 2733 and was engaged in a bloody civil war, border clashes against northern Nationalist elements as well as organizing public demonstrations and Trade Unions. When the party was formed Emilano Jara and James Fabien were elected as its heads. In Jan 3025 the United front of the Coburan Left was founded with the Democratic Socialist Party. Its aims were to create a left-wing vanguard coalition in cobura - it was the brainchild of internal affairs spokesman Kevin Higgins. In its first participating national election the MLFC was elected into office as the biggest party (at 28%) with Emiliano Jara as the president. They entered Government with the democratic Socialists and the PRNL. In November 3039 James fabien, One of the party founders Died of Tubercolosis. A statue was erected in his honour outside the party HQ.
