Description[?]:

Left-wing party based in Silidar

Leaders:

Adam Milente (3202-3223)
The first leader of the SDP. He built the party from the ground up, and, despite the fact that many of the party's policies went against popular opinion, on the first election the party participated in, he managed to have his party garner enough seats in parliament to prevent a government being formed, due to the absence of leadership in the Federal and Rightist Party, and the Democratic Party of Aloria running aginst everything his party stood for. Afterwards, due to creative policies, and despite never breaking the elusive 20% mark, the party only fell below 10% of the vote once, and 100 seats twice. They rose back above both marks when the Democratic Party of Aloria and the Tea Party both collapsed (at the time of their collapses, they were in fact the most powerful parties in parliament), which saved the party he built from the internal strife it was suffering dueto poor election results. This led him to be called the lucky dog of Alorian politics. After the 3219 elections he said he would serve one more term after the 3219-3222 term before retiring. His Internal affairs advisor Michael Brock is his successor.

Michael Brock (3223-3246)
The current leader of the SDP. After taking leadership, in a country where the Head of State and Head of Government were now seperate, he managed to earn the highest ever vote total in SDP history in his first election, due to the withdrawal from politics of the Libertarian Alliance, and the collapse of the utterly disorganized National Liberation Party. Analysts were predicting that the party would lose seats in the next election, but not 100 seats. The defeat was seen as a mark of an unworthy successor. After a major gain in seats in the next election, calls for his resignation subsided, and, for the first time ever, the party was part of the national coalition, gaining the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Justice, and Education. Needless to say, Minister Anna Thompson went a little nuts pushing treaty ratifications, seemingly with the blessing of MP Brock. In 3238,the first elections since the loss of four of the six remaining major parties gave the SDP near total control over the country. Now PM Brock decided that he would slowly push through his agenda, rather than pass it all at once, so as to ensure that he still had the voters' support. He also announced that in 3246, he would retire from politics. He named Internal Affairs Minister Anna Cho as his successor.

Anna Cho (3246-Present)
The first female leader of the SDP and the first to take leadership after Aloria became a single-party state. According to insiders, she was chosen as she was un likely to abuse her power, or fall prey to outside interests.
