Description[?]:
2153 The Phalanx Party, resurrected with the creation of the new Pontesian state in 2153, espouses a nationalist platform, combining social conservatism with free market economics. Member of the highly patriotic organisation, Guardians of the Cedars, the Phalanx Party is led by Bashir Gemayal. The party is largely run by four families, the Gemayals, Chamouns, Geagea's and the Aoun's. The party is strongly christian in outlook and most of its supporters adhere to a variety of christian faiths. 2849 Several nationalist groups came together to form a unified nationalist block, capable of running in national legislative elections. They have decided to take the name of one of the original Pontesian parties. The party draws support largely from the Episcopalian community, and firmly endorses a national conservative philosophy, combing free market economics, with conservative social policies and a hawkish military and foreign policy stance. ==Leader== Michel Aoun, 2849 - onwards ==Cabinet Members== October 2850 - December 2859 Internal Affairs - Bachir Gemayel Environment and Tourism - Baltazar Anderson Trade and Industry - Amine Gemayel December 2859 onwards Defence - Michel Aoun Food and Agriculture - Bachir Gemayel Environment and Tourism - Acervus Samara (Originally a member of the Optimates) Trade and Industry Amine Gemayel |

Random fact: Particracy allows you to establish an unelected head of state like a monarch or a president-for-life, but doing this is a bit of a process. First elect a candidate with the name "." to the Head of State position. Then change your law on the "Structure of the executive branch" to "The head of state is hereditary and symbolic; the head of government chairs the cabinet" and change the "formal title of the head of state" to how you want the new head of state's title and name to appear (eg. King Percy XVI). |
Random quote: "Civil disobedience. . . is not our problem. Our problem is civil obedience. Our problem is that numbers of people all over the world have obeyed the dictates of the leaders of their government and have gone to war, and millions have been killed because of this obedience. . Our problem is that people are obedient all over the world in the face of poverty and starvation and stupidity, and war, and cruelty. Our problem is that people are obedient while the jails are full of petty thieves, and all the while the grand thieves are running the country. That's our problem." - Howard Zinn |
