Description[?]:

The Ishtirakiya Party is an Islamic Socialist Party that is a bit more hardline compared to most others. The aims of the party are to make religion a branch of the government, but keep the government socialist. The goal is backed by the claim that the party and Islam allow private ownership but natural resources and large industries are to be owned collectively. The party is extremely anti-war unless there is an absolute reason for it, and even then, is against chemical warfare and nuclear warfare. The main difference between the IP and the UPU is that the IP sees the State as being more important then the Islamic Establishment, while the UPU sees it the exact opposite. Despite these differences, the UPU is the party's biggest political ally in Al'Badara

The Party was formed in December 2156 by Abdul Fattah Mohammed, who felt the Ba'ath party was to millitant, the Union of Ulama too centrist, the Medusoid party too inactive, and the Marxist-Lenninist party too atheist.

In the party's first election, Abdul Fattah Mohammed gained only 2,165 votes, and the party gained no seats. In the party's second election, however, they became the darkhorse majority party, but because Abdul did not wish to run, the party did not field a Head of State candidate. In the party's third election, they continued to hold a large amount of seats, and Salim Ali Rubai al-Shaabi became the Voice of the People (HoS). The following election had similar results. Being that the party is very anti-autocratic, Salim did not run a third time to set a precident. As a result of this, a new candidate, Mu'Ammar Ghanem Taraki, ran in the fifth elections in which the IP participated, and became the country's Head of State. It was the fist time in Al'badaran history that a Head of State won a victory in the first-round election. In the next elections, the party decided to endorse their allied party -- the UPU -- instead of field their own candidate. From then on, the party filled minor cabinate positions, but never reached it's former glory of the 2160s.

In 2257, The party chairman Najib Karami declared the party dead and it dissapeared from politics completely.

In 2278, after 21 years of inactivity, Ali Naser refounded the party in order to establish a new Majatran Republic. In their first elections back they recieved little support from the populace, but by the second elections people recognized the IP and remembered the good o'le days under their leadership, awarding them 45 seats in the Military Command Council (48%). In the year 2300, the party sucseeded with the help of it's political allies, the revolutionary party, and established the "United Majatran Republic of Socialist Al'Badara". What followed was described as "Positive Regression" -- a reinstatement of symbols and anthems of the old UMR. After the Naser's rule achieved its goals (including three terms as Grand Vizer), the Chairmanship was transfered to Muhammad az-Zentani. He ran twice and won the office of Grand Vizer, then relinquished his Chairmanship to Riyad Bakdash. Bakdash thrice won the Grand Vizer Position (non-consecutive), and then handed the chairmanship over to Muhammad az-Zentani. Zentani won Grand Vizer once. In the final months of his reign, the Party staged a bloodless coup, seizing all seats in the legislature and filling all cabinet positions with party members. Afterwards he handed over power to the leader of the party member in charge of the Coup, Mohammad Najibullah.
