Description[?]:
Founded September 3754-Demolished in 3792, leaders went on to bring bac the AIP, formerly known as the People's Party. The Alorian Reform Party was founded in September 3754 by a group of business leaders along with community leaders. Hoping to break past normal bickering partisanship the party is set to the center-right taking a capitalist approach to the economy and being fiscal conservative. However; the party stakes out to the left and middle on social issues and international issues. The party used to be controlled by a 13 member panel called the Executive Committee who controlled the party's operations and elected Chairman, in 3779 delegates abolished the EC after death of Chairman Jason Owens. In a proposal by Linda Moon, in 3785 delegates approved 290-10 vote to re-establish the EC, with 10 members who would oversee operations and field candidates for Parliament and other races. Delegates elect 5 of the 10 members of the panel, that number including the party's Chair and Vice Chair for 6 year terms, along with 3 members with 3 year terms. Delegates still have power to be the only ones to nominate Presidential candidates for the ARM. In 3788 ARM leadership of the EC disbanded and dissolved all delegates, and city council party committees that elect delegates. A new EC and Leadership positon were formed and filled. Random quote: "Soldiers are not the enemies of the movement. They're potential allies. They're more than that. Soldiers are the only people in America who are paying a stiff price for this war. Everybody else profits. Soldiers are the ones losing their lives, losing friends, having their lives disrupted. The real victims of American imperialism are its soldiers." - Fred Gardner |
