Description[?]:
Slogan Look Left, Look Right, Go Ahead Allied for the Common Good History Founded in 3898, The Progressives strive to achieve social justice, liberty and democracy by making the government work truly for the people. The founder, George Emerson then became president and our first and only majority leader. In 3986, Rick Perot revitalized the Progressives and created a new left. Under the leadership of Ed Stewart, the party is renamed as Reform! Rutania. The party is then renamed as the Alliance in 4037. The Alliance's Members The Alliance does not practice the R!R's referendum system to prevent low turnouts. In place, a parties system is established to recognize different members' political opinions. The 50-member Alliance Congress is the highest body of representation and decision-making of the party, elected through a Proportional Representation system. Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation. |
Random quote: "Thousands of Zardic soldiers were sacrificed so that the Zardic government could gain control of a few buildings and Theodoro could pretend to be Augustus the Great. This is the kind of jingoistic ideology Zardugal would bring to the Security Council. They will throw countless lives away in pursuit of former glory." - Prince Akhaias, former Coburan royal |
