| The Oberoende Alternativ (Independent Alternative) is a right-libertarian capitalist party. The party is based on intellectual libertarian beliefs and free market classical economics. It is headquartered in Telamon Rampart, Sevescia. Party Chairman: Wille Ful (Finance Minister, 4034-4039) Parliamentary Leader: Henrik Oberling (Finance Minister, 4029-4033, 4039-)) (Prime Minister, 4034-4039) Presidential Candidate: Ingrid Bielser (Governor of Migadon, 4034-4040) Former Leaders: Karl Oberling (President, 3982-3986), Gustaf Westerwel (Prime Minister, 3981-3984) (President, 4013-4015), Ohla Ful (Finance Minister, 3981-3995) (Prime Minister, 3995-4015) (President, 4029-4032), Wilhelm Westerwel (Transport Minister, 3987-3995) (Finance Minister, 3995-4015) (Prime Minister, 4029-4033), Jan Haling (Prime Minister, 3985-3995) (President, 4032-4036), Kalle Henriksson (Governor of Sevescia, 4032-4036) (President, 4036-4038) Manifesto: - Reduce spending - Increase local control of law enforcement, education, and ecology - Reform the electoral system so that seat % = vote % - Encourage self-regulation throughout the economy - Cap spending on any department at $5,000,000,000 - Limit the government's power to use force - Remove corrupt foreign political influences - Adopt a sensible immigration and refugee system, replacing the open borders system - Eliminate all non-income taxes, implement 10% flat tax - Establish free trade, minimal border security, and mutual defense with the rest of Macon. Economics: Absolute separation of business and state. Religion: Absolute separation of church and state. Social Policy: No legislated morality. Ideal Government System: Federal Republic Winner of Progress Awards Committee's Progress Award for efforts to progress Telamon. (4028) Founded Council for Fiscal Responsibility (4036). Council President is picked by OA, and is currently Jan Haling. "We have popped the bubble that politicians live inside, and exposed them to the will of the masses." - Gustaf Westerwel, election night 3982 Party History: OA was founded in 3978 by economics professor Gustaf Westerwel and his mentor, statistics professor Karl Oberling. After working together at the University of Migadon, the pair decided that the options currently offered by the other parties: socialism, liberalism, and green socialism, were ruining the country. Together with wealthy financier Ohla Ful, the party immediately experienced electoral success. In their first election they became the second largest party, and went on to form a coalition with Westerwel at the head and Ohla Ful as Finance Minister. In 3982, Karl Oberling won the election for President. As the years went on, opposition began to disappear. Radically, Telamon shifted to becoming a federalist, capitalist, libertarian state. Though shut out of the presidency after the retirement of Oberling, OA's Statsministers Jan Haling and Ohla Ful continued the free market revolutions until 4013, when Gustaf Westerwel was elected President. In 4015, for the first time in their history, OA was completely shut out of the halls of power. In 4029, Ohla Ful was elected President and Wilhelm Westerwel was made Statsminister, signifying a return to power of OA. It declined and took part and several coalitions until 4043, where they disbanded. OA disbanded in 4043. |
