|The SLP-Libertarian Alliance was founded in 4140 under a big tent center to center-left platform. The two parties joined as a way to bring their common ideals of civil-liberties and the Cooper type local government plan that the two parties shared. |
The Libertarians were able to grow across universities, but were never really able to organize into an effective political party. After gaining about 50,000 members, an increasingly center-left SLP leadership reached out to the Libertarian party. They offered an electoral coalition for some major platform changes, specifically to healthcare. Libertarian leadership accepted ion January 8th 4140 as a chance to bring their small movement to the mainstream. A reconvening of the 25th SLP National Convention accepted the agreement 3 days later, making the coalition official.
The Libertarian Party was founded in 4138 by a group of students in Union Bay, Iliathar under the ideas liberty and smaller government. The party believes in civil and economic liberty and believes in local government. Above all, the libertarians believe in the power of individualism and the idea that the individual knows best.
The Social-Liberal Party, established in 3996, is a center-left leaning party established to create and defend civil liberties and social programs. This is the original wing of the SLP-Libertarian Coalition The party's main platform is
1. Establish a decent welfare system that can give all an equal chance
2. Establish an environmental system that combats pollution while keeping and working with the private sector
3. Preserve civil rights of all citizens, including LGBT rights and a women's right to choose.
The party was disbanded in 4082, marking an end to the first era. However, it was reformed at the 4122 National Convention by a unanimous vote of 2,000 delegates. Here, the party showed a few new wings as it had to redefine itself in a new, post 80s revolutionary scene. Those that rallied under the old Wilkins wing made up the mainstream of the party, while some more far left supporters that would have backed Sergant in the 4080 primary called themselves "sergeants", a pun on the name. Meanwhile, a more centrist wing formed calling themselves "O'mallites", after the 50s party figure Jeff O'malley. The old Hammond wing of the party is an insignificant minority, mainly blamed for the original disbanding of the party.

|Random fact: Cultural Protocols bills must provide descriptions of the cultures, languages and religions which would be easy for an unfamiliar player to understand (eg. "Dundorfian = German"). Where appropriate, they should also provide guidance to players on where to find help with translations and character names. This might include, for example, links to Google Translate, Behind the Name's Random Name Generator and Fantasy Name Generators.|
