Description[?]:

The Mordusian Worker's Party believes in equality for all, the abolition of the capitalist system, and the use of government to raise the proletariat to power. We are a far left party who believe in the rights of all workers to rise up and break free from their shackles.

**Formerly the Hosian Democratic Party**

Party Description

The Hosian Democratic Party believes in a strong free market, but also welcomes government intervention when necessary. This includes protecting our environment, providing a public healthcare option to compete with private insurers in the healthcare market, and investment in key industries. We are also strong believers in free trade, pro-immigration, and pro-rehabilitation reform in our prisons. The party, however, has its roots in the dominant Mordusian religion, Hosianism. The party believes that marriage is a religious union between a man and a woman, that abortion should be removed at all costs to protect innocent lives, and opposes all forms of human indecency. The party is considered center-right/center/center-left on economic positions, and center/center-right on social positions.

POSITION HISTORY

PARTY LEADER:

1.George Barrett (4279 - )

George Barrett was formerly a member of the Mordusian Socialist Party, however was always known to be more moderate economically than a majority of the party, and was also a devout member of the Hosian Church in Mordusia, despite such actions being looked down upon in the party. Barrett thought about moving to the Tea Party, but deemed it to be economically too conservative. He was then able to gather several several individuals to form a comprehensive leadership team, and successfully create the Hosian Democratic Party.

DEPUTY LEADER:

1. Charlotte Dawson (4279 - 4284)

Charlotte Dawson was formerly a member of the Tea Party, however, after disagreements with the party, she sought to create her own party. Without any proper infrastructure or anyone else to aid her, she was lost until George Barrett approached her with an opportunity to achieve electoral success.

2. Rachael Harding (4284 - )

Rachael Harding, an MP from Talasor, is one of the smartest foreign policy minds of her generation. She has little interest in the social doings of the party, but more so interested in the foreign policy aspects of how Mordusia can play a role in the global sphere. She is more pro-immigration and pro-interventionist than most members of the party, but she has a fairly large backing due to her intelligence and cunning that she has demonstrated in Parliament. She was elected in 4284.

PARTY FULL HISTORY

4212 - Sean Martin establishes the party to serve as a centrist party between the Socialists and far right capitalist parties

4214- The Neoliberal Party endorses One Mordusia’s Presidential pick, Johnny Park

4216 - In the first ever Neoliberal Primaries, Sean Martin wins the nomination for President, beating Josh Cooke, the Minister of Trade and Industry

4219 - Sean Martin once again wins the nomination of the Neoliberal Party for President, beating Josh Cooke, a congressman. There was a general consensus that the election was rigged against Josh Cooke, who had won the majority of delegates. Josh Cooke vowed to run for Party Chairman

January 4221 - Sean Martin and Josh Cooke fight each other once again in one of their most contentious battles. The vote is held nationally, and Sean Martin wins with about 5,000 Neoliberal party members more than his opponent. Martin creates the position of Deputy Chairman, and offers it to Cooke as a friendly gesture, but Cooke denies the position, claiming “I would rather work on fixing our party from the outside, than be subservient to the corrupt administration of Mr. Martin.” Sean Martin instead chooses Patrick Foster, an up and coming Congressman, to be his Deputy Chairman.

March 4221 - Sean Martin reveals the new Neoliberal manifesto, showing a significant move rightwards in terms of economics and social rights. Many in the party criticize this move, denouncing it as a movement away from the core values of the party and its voters.

September 4221 - Sean Martin says that he may not seek the Presidency in the 4224 elections, but he is keeping all options open.

4222 - Sean Martin, after 10 years as leader of the Neoliberal party, turns 63 years old. He announces that he will not run for party chairman, and has announced that he will be calling for a party election to happen on January of 4225. Both the Chairman and Deputy Chairman positions will have an election. Martin also announces that he does intend to run one last time for the position of President.

December 4223 - The Presidential primaries have begun, with another match-up between Sean Martin and Josh Cooke, with a new center-right candidate, Brandon Evans.

August 4224 - Josh Cooke wins the presidency with 60% of the vote in the second round, becoming the first President from the Neoliberal party. He forms a coalition cabinet with the Tea Party, One Mordusia, and the Stand By You Party. He announces that Camden Brady, from the Tea Party, will be his Vice-President.

4225 - A growing rivalry between those on the center-left and those on the center-right forced the resignation of the chairman Sean Martin as well as the entire Party leadership. With no true replacement ready to take the party to victory, a vote was held with all elected members of the party on whether to dissolve the party. Out of 200 members, 103 voted to dissolve the party, while 97 voted against, and with that slim majority, the party was dissolved.
