Description[?]:
The SDPL was formed in January of 4555, by a relatively unknown advocate for social democracy, Harrison "Sol" Walker. Walker had surprisingly been a former advocate for free-market capitalism, completely abhorring social democracy and all other socialist-zeals. However, after developing situations in his local province of Sorbanika, he grew firery after private companies began refusing to assist those in need, raising prices, and nearly making it impossible for those with relatively low incomes. Mr. Walker joined the SWP in 4553, shortly after his new views were discovered. As the years passed, however, he realized himself to be apart of a more of a moderate faction, perceiving the party to had been infiltrated by communists and other authoritarians. With this, the SDPL broke off from the SWP in early 4555, and a large chunk of members are more moderate former SWP supporters who believed the same as Walker. The SDPL is more of a libertarian-social democratic outlook, supporting less restrictions on issues such as gun rights, drug use, and more. Along with this, the SDPL supports market socialism, more government intervention to protect consumers, and overall supporting the working class and their liberties. |
