Description[?]:
Our party - formed in Feb 4643 by Oliver Anderson is based upon values of freedom and liberty for the citizen and for the business. We want above all, Solentia to move forward in centrist manner that will benefit all citizens. We are social liberals We support sensible environmentalist reforms to create a clean environment and still let the business prosper We are fighters for internationalism and not isolationism and want to implement terrawide capitalism. We would like to work on economic liberalization so we have a truly free country. We are also a centrist willing to work with anybody for the greater good of the people of Solentia. History: Formed in Feb 4643 by Oliver Anderson a Journalist, diplomat, businessman and Christian. Went into a coalition with the NC and NLP in July 4643 and we brung a well needed wave of capitalist economic reforms, tax cuts and re-established Solentia's internationalist image. We also brought Hosianism back to the institutions of Solentia! In January 4345 after the retirement of Oliver Anderson, Karen Harris the foreign affairs minster and previously accomplished author and university professor assumed leadership, beating James Booth and Phoebe Smith. She promised a platform of centrism and unity. After the catastrophic elections of July 4647, where the party lost over 100 seats and the vote share plummeted by 12% to only get 18 seats, only 3.6% of the total, our party rejoined the government with the NLP and NC and a new member: The Green Party. After the election the more right wing of the party took control, promising to regain voters who migrated to other right wing parties. Madelyn Blackbourne and Pheobe Smith, both faced off in the leadership election after Karen Harris resigned as leader, they were both in the more right wing of the party. In the end Madelyn Blackbourne, a long time law professor, judge and MP became leader promising revitalization of capitalist and conservative values. Snap elections were called in July 4648 after the Green Party incident, Madelyn Blackbourne solidified her leadership by leading the party to gain 35 seats in this election and get more than 10% of the vote. We re-joined the coalition with the NLP and NC, and immediatly started working with the NLP for Conservative social reforms. In January of 4650 Madelyn Blackbourne had a heart attack, in the following leadership election, her natural conservative successor Phoebe Smith was narrowly defeated (51.2% to 48.8%) by the centrist and more progressive Alex Elliot who was a long time charity worker and doctor. He pushed the party in a more centrist and liberal direction. In the summer of 4650 Alex Elliot re-branded the party as The Democratic People's Party and moved in a more centrist and liberal direction. |
