Description[?]:
The RCP was founded in 5012 by Justin Cameron, who launched the party as a national political party in 5013 - seeking to bring a more moderate liberal and progressive politics to the Commonwealth. Frustrated by the instability and repeated calls for early elections by the two ruling parties, Cameron sought to provide a stable liberal voice for the people whilst also seeking to work together with the larger parties. 5013 to 5016 Emergence After the party was founded under the leadership of Justin Cameron, the party campaigned tirelessly to promote more socially and economically liberal values. The RCP successfully secured reform of the judiciary, ensuring that courts decided on the rule of law, separated the Police from the military, promoted choice around abortion and devolved powers to local government on issues like education, recreational drug use, animal rights and waste management - with the support of the ruling parties The Socials and The Liberals. The RCP campaigned to promote freedom in the private sector for industry, media, education and banking but these reforms were not widely supported by the ruling party The Socials. The party continued to campaign, showing the people that there are alternatives to the status quo. The party also secured constitutional reform reducing the period between elections to 30 months, to prevent the Instability of the years 5013 to 5014. 5016 to 5018 First Government Justin Cameron was elected as the RCPs first President in 5016, with the support of all parties the condition was reformed to allow a coalition government to be formed. The RCP was able to push forward with its liberalisation of the economy. This included privatisation within media, energy and telecommunication. There was also educational reform and devolution of new powers to local government. From January 5017 The RCP led a coalition with the Liberals, Elizabeth Stone became the RCPs first Prime Minister. Second Term 5018 to 5019 A second term in coalition with the Liberals, UPA and NCC began as an anti socialist moderate progressive administration. It was difficult for the RCP to lead on legislation because President Cameron had to protect Rutania from outside threats during the Kafuristan crisis of 5018, during this time the NCC greatly destabilised the coalition by pushing its own agenda. This was felt by many to be anti democratic as the NCC were at the time the smallest party. However the reforms of this time were positive, the coalition did agree on devolution if power to create a more federal Rutania which had been a long term aim of the RCP. In 5019 the NCC called an early election and manipulated the electoral system to force the UPA into the Presidency on a false promise that was not accepted by their voters, and so the UPA called an early election in September 5019 which restored President Cameron to power .
