Headquarters are located in the beautiful coastal city of Brn Jezstad (Bad Heerstadt) in the state of Sisula. The GVP is a welcoming and open party to all those who support Dundorfian ideals and heritage. It is the goal of the GVP to enhance, unify, and defend all Dundorfian people across Terra. Based on the great traditions of Terra's Dundorfian people, the GVP sustains and promotes the following platform: = A strong centralized government = Separation of church and state = Proactive environmental protection = Socialized health care = A powerful and efficient military = Controlled capitalism = Protection of our culture and heritage GVP Politicians who have served in government: Dr. Jürgen Wulff - President (5 terms) Otto Müller - Chancellor (9 terms) Dr. Wolfgang Kretschmer - Minister of Foreign Affairs (10 terms) Heidi Westernhagen - Minister of Internal Affairs (5 terms) Gen. Lothar Krüder - Minister of Defense (6 terms) Hans von Arnauld - Minister of Justice (5 terms) Prof. Dr. Clara Schumann - Minister of Education and Culture (10 terms) Dr. Markus Brühl - Minister of Science and Technology (5 terms) Charlotte Liebe - Minister of Food and Agriculture (5 terms) Werner Söderbaum - Minister of Environment and Tourism (6 terms) Dr. Markus Brühl - Governor of Sisula (8 terms) Eva Lüthburg - Governor of Uthena (4 terms) Hannah Heisenberg - Governor of Murdhild (2 terms) Heinrich Schütz - Governor of Ikegaru (2 terms) ****** NEWS ****** NEWS ****** NEWS ****** Liberation for Barmenistan! June 3, 2516 Bad Heerstadt, Sisula Three long years of occupation by HaLeumit Tikvah, a foreign Beiteynuese military unit masquerading as a political party, has ended! After a hostile takeover and rigged elections, the GVP and other parties of Barmenistan resisted the Tikvah through skilled political maneuvering and a short, but pitched militia battle that resulted in the Tikvah's capitulation. On the night of May 26th, GVP and Koalition forces stormed Tikvah outposts and watchtowers across Bad Heerstadt. Upon reaching the Barmenistan Capitol, an intense firefight erupted, but ended shortly with Tikvah forces surrendering and political agents retreating through underground passages to the President's Mansion. With news of the liberation of the Capitol, citizens poured into the streets cheering the advancing Koalition soldiers and soon the President's Mansion was surrounded by an estimated 200,000-strong mob of angry protesters and soldiers. Tikvah dictator Mordechai Eitam appeared on the balcony, visibly shaken, and agreed to meet with Gen. Lothar Krüder, the GVP militia commander. Gen. Krüder negotiated the full withdrawal of Tikvah forces and political agents back to Beiteynu in order to avoid further violence and bloodshed. Although many GVP and Koalition politicians and supporters were livid over Gen. Krüder's release of Eitam and other high ranking Tikvah officials, he described the alternative as full scale civil war that would have plunged Barmenistan into further chaos and resulted in great loss of life had he not. Mordechai Eitam and all Tikvah militia and party members have been permanently barred from Barmenistan and all assets and military possessions including both of their vaunted nuclear missiles have been turned over to the Ministry of Defense. Today, citizens across the nation are rejoicing and proclaiming that May 26th will forever be known as Liberation Day. Gen. Krüder, the newly appointed Minister of Defense has ordered the border with Beiteynu sealed and a large military presence to be maintained there indefinitely. Construction of several large military bases in northern Ikegaru are planned and ground-breaking is expected by the end of the month. __________________________ GVP Battles On! August 16, 2514 Bad Heerstadt, Sisula After topping the first round of the recent presidential election Dr. Jürgen Wulff stated he will “battle on” in the defense of the secular community. Barmenistan has never reached such a crisis as under the foreign occupation by the Tikvah from SJHB. Dr. Wulff said “The rights and liberties of the citizens of this secular nation have been utterly trampled on by the Tikvah.” He called for further bolstering the militias that protect our secular communities. Resistance is slowly growing as the ruthless thugs of the Tikvah loose their stranglehold on the people. Hans Essentopf of Grunefeld said “Their [Tikvah] threats of genocide and mass destruction are having less of an impact on my community.” During the last election fewer Tikvah militiamen could be found patrolling polling stations and intimidating and threatening voters. In fact, new resistance newspapers and radio towers are springing up across Barmenistan. In several open letters and speeches to the nation, the GVP has encouraged the resistance and is now widely considered the defenders of the secular. Even small religious groups are turning to the GVP and seeking protection from the Tikvah’s inquisition and campaign to eliminate all other faiths. _____________________________ GVP in Government! June 12, 2502 Bad Heerstadt, Sisula The GVP has been elevated to the national cabinet! Cheers of victory and great elation were heard outside the GVP headquarters as the newly sworn-in cabinet ministers presented themselves. Beaming with pride and optimism, Dr. Markus Brühl announced to the nation the following GVP cabinet posts: Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Wolfgang Kretschmer Minister of Foreign Affairs Heidi Westernhagen Minister of Justice Hans von Arnauld Minister of Education and Culture Prof. Dr. Clara Schumann “Together the GVP will work to further the cause of intellectualism, freedom, and the protection of the culture of our nation and Dundorfians across the world” said Dr. Kretschmer at a reception after the event. News of the victory did indeed reach some far flung hamlets. Bernard Hoffman who lives in the small Dundorfian village of Lutzhafen on the western coast of Kazulia said he completed Barmenistan immigration papers after he heard of the victory. Many others in the town are following his lead and are pooling money to charter a small container ship to Barmenistan. ___________________________ A New Century for the GVP July 10, 2499 Bad Heerstadt , Sisula At the close of the 25th Century, people across the nation watch the old guard slowly fade and catch a glimpse of the next 100 years. After a rocky start, the GVP is stronger than ever as Barmenistan looks to a new century of new leadership. Full of hope and energy, GVP supporters have once again filled the streets of Bad Heerstadt in Sisula cheering recent electoral victories, and now in a new state: Uthena. A surprise GVP gubernatorial victory in Uthena for Eva Lüthburg lifts the Party to new heights. Gov. Lüthburg announced positive reform from the GVP in Uthena and a breakdown of the communist state. The Governor also confirmed the renaming of Bookhill Jufo, the capital of Uthena, to Buchhügel to reflect the new Germanic majority. |
