Description[?]:
"VERITAS, AEQUITAS!" BLOC LIBERAL: Fully known as the Soldats du Kanjor- le Bloc Libéral Kanjoran (Soldiers of Kanjor - the Kanjoran Liberal Bloc), The Bloc started as an association of urban liberals, so-called "downtown libertarians", dedicated secularists and members of the armed forces who seek representation for a military agenda. The BL has become more commonly known as "The Bloc" or "Le Bloc" with its members and supporters usually referred to as "Bellistes" due to the phonetic pronounciation of the party's initials. The party's agenda has been outlined as the "protection of the social contract for the individual and the citizen" with the term social contract defined as being the government existing as an agreement between the people of Kanjor to protect their rights and liberties provided they do not harm or coerce those of another individual. While it operates on Social Contract Theory, the party's actions might differ in practice to represent its constituents and supporters in the military. The party was originally chaired by Elsie Lesage, a young and then-relatively inexperienced recent graduate of the Université Métropolitaine in Atyr, and continues to boast candidates with backgrounds in academia or military service. As a result, the party's candidates have been criticized as representing only the "Liberal Elite" or the "military aristocracy" of the Kanjoran Free State. Today, it is among the oldest liberal forces left in Kanjor. The collapse of the old guard leftists has led to a new, inspired generation of academics and military men and women with the concepts of brotherhood at the core of military theory and leftist movements in Kanjor to shift the party from its old laissez-faire libertarian and neo-liberal position to a liberal position. So much so that it was classified as a party of the downtrodden and "liberal working class" prominent in Yewao Region in recent elections. This change of the times is represented in the current contest between the old guard government-as-edifice-only libertarian positions of Mme. Weinstein in comparison with the young Sénateur Kennedy who originates from a working class Irish-Kanjoran Catholic Cavaville, Yewao family and who served in the Free State Marines to the rank of Capitaine. Party chairman and Président: Antoine Boisclair, Général Current nominee for Chef d'État: Sénateur junior Capt. Robert-Gérald Kennedy |

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, special care must be taken to ensure realism is maintained when role-playing a government controlled by an ethnic and/or religious minority. If it is to be supposed that this government is supported by a majority of the population, then this should be plausibly and sufficiently role-played. The burden of proof is on the player or players role-playing such a regime to demonstrate that it is being done realistically |
Random quote: "A democracy that does not allow limits is not a democracy. Just as a limitless freedom is not freedom, but prevarication. Indeed, any theory of freedom worthy of this name is first of all a limit theory. If we extend the unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not willing to defend a tolerant society against the attacks of the intolerants, then the tolerants will be destroyed and the tolerance with them! Because, I ask to myself and ask you, given a certain system that we call democratic, which is today the best possible system to allow everyone to live freely and to be able to express their own thoughts, how can the same system admit attacks against its integrity? How can a system refuse the principle of the self-preservation? For this reason, to suppress the apologetics of thalerrism, it's for this reason that the exaltation of exegetes, principles, facts or methods of Thallerism and its anti-democratic aims does not constitute a violation of the freedom of manifestation of thought, but, on the contrary, the celebration of that freedom. The protection of the first premise on which a modern democratic system is based. And this premise must be safeguarded also and above all against itself and its abuses." ~ Malik Astori, Leadership of Liberty and Progress (Istalia) |
